2013 Fredrick Celtic Festival Pix

The Fredrick Celtic Festival seems to get better each year. I much prefer the venue at Mt. Airy Park were it once again was held this year. My only disappointment was not seeing XMarker SVC40bt who lives nearby.

I have kinship ties to the Gordons and Donnachaidhs. As the Donnachaidhs were the honored clan for the Festival it was only proper for me to wear my Robbie Red USAK 5-yarder.

I was overjoyed to see the Scottish Tartans Museum present for the first time at this festival. It was great to see Ronan MacGregor and Chuck Coburn. Chuck and I were touring partners in a 2011 STM sponsor tour of Scotland.

For entertainment the infamous Barley Juice had every clamoring for more.

As I traveled the grounds I was recognized and hailed by the lovely XMarker Celtic Kiltie.

XMarker David H manned the SAMS tent and was busy signing up new members.

What’s a Celtic festival without the Highland Games!

And of course you need the Clans!

At the Gordon tent David Todd was teaching the young swordsman the fine art of popping bubbles!

Let’s not forget the Pipe Bands to make a Celtic Festival.

We held our Meet Up at 3 PM to coincide with the Memorial Service being held in Georgia for our departed XMarker Turpin Ballard. Using the wee XMTS Saltire Quaich we held an Immortal Memory of Turpin sharing our times and thoughts for our friend. Sir William and I both have his sporrans.
