Only Non-Drinking Kilter
I've noticed that from the conversations on the board, alcohol comes up quite a bit. I was curious, am I the only kilter that doesn't drink?

Well, I DO drink, but precious little. I only have about 5 alcoholic drinks in a year.

I'm like Bubba. I rarely drink, and when I do go to the pub with friends, as I'm doing tonight, I will have one drink maximum.

You are probably not alone. It should not be a concern. I doubt that it is.
When I do the pub crawl I may only have a beer or two then have soft drinks or water. I still have a great time, I enjoy going out getting together with friends and telling war stories(mostly about kilting and reactions). Going pubbing is getting better because of the smoking bylaws, I don't come out reaking of smoke after a night out.
We have a couple of guys that come out that don't drink, that's OK 'cause we want them to join us and have fun. The fun part is being out in a kilt. Above all one must respect a person's choice (Another situation when no means no). I'm sure discussions on food and dance are probably next on the agenda

I must admit that I enjoy my whiskey, and a fine brown ale is hard to pass up as well.

I enjoy a good whiskey or a brew with a meal but I don't particularly like intoxication in myself or people around me. Moderation in all things, including abstinance!

Well Bear I don't drink to excess myself. I only have a few when I go out. But really what is the number that tags along with the word "few". A few is more than a couple and I stop counting after a couple. By the end of the night I am in no shape to have counted just how many I have had and I know I have had more the a couple, so a few drinks is all I ever have when I go out. It all makes sense when you have a few drinks in you!
Cheers!

I agree with moderation. Remember, the Big Guy only told us to "not drink to excess". I see nothing wrong with a pint or 2 after work as Im tossing a slab of animal on the grill for dinner. I also enjoy libations at the pub with friends, but I have found that a 2 to 1 glass ratio of brew vs water (2 pints then 1 water)a good way to prevent those nasty dehydration headaches.
I do homebrew, but thats more for the variety & flavor of the differing styles. My motto is "QUALITY, not Quantity".
Well lads, tonite I'll toast you all with the first pint out of my new batch of Irish Stout that I just kegged last night. Happy St.Pats.

No, Adam, you're not. I am definitely a non-alcoholic person. About the only thing alcoholic I have when I'm not sick, are cherry cordial candies that come from a candy shop about 20 miles from here. They're made with bourbon and the filling still seems to be a bit alcoholic even after they've been made.
