Looking for a leather cantled sporran pattern

    Hey there all,

Just started delving into making sporrans a few years back and with a couple of Jacobean sporrans as well as a fun little "elvish" type sporran based off of a belt bag I picked up from Epic Armory about a year ago. Now, I am ready, willing and able to try my hand at a leather cantled sporran. I am looking to make something akin to the Glengyle sporran made by Ferguson Britt. Anyone got any ideas or info on where I could locate a base pattern to go from.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have ideas or info, but I do have a desire to see the finished product.

    Good luck!

    Thanks Psynister!

Given that I am posting from an iPhone right now, I sadly don't have access to any of my photos of previous sporran work...although will remedy that once I can sit in front of the computer at home.

Couple of other members have contributed their plans. Here's one that I remember seeing, I'm sure other OPs will chime in too.

Tobus pattern (for a metal cantle, but same general shape as Glenglye)

A closer look at the Tobus pattern
Proudly Duncan [maternal], MacDonald and MacDaniel [paternal].

Just an update for you all, thanks to the link to tobus' work, I now have a pattern. Am looking to upcycle an old red computer motherboard for the cantle. I figure it will be something fun, funky and a step away from the traditional. Wish me luck! And I will post pictures of the overall progress for your perusal. Thanks again for all the help.

That's a great idea. Maybe you could use SDIMM for "tassels"?
