Father's Day 2013 Kiltedness.
in the honoring of our father's and forefathers, Father's Day seemed like a great day to be wearing a kilt. So I did.

Here I am wearing my Heritage of Scotland Kilt with my A_Hay custom Celtic Cross sporran.
Also present, my fantastic wife of nearly thirty-four years, definitely my favorite accessory !
Rob.
P.S. Let's see your Father's Day pictures...
P.P.S. I have more pictures with one of my sons-in-law in his Elkocommando kilt and A_Hay sporran. I'll post as soon as they arrive at my computer.

Happy Father's Day everyone!
Here is a photo from our day. Connie's son Daelin was sent, as a school representative, to the Northern California HOBY leadership conference this weekend(Google HOBY International) . This is a photo of he and I after the event.

This is the first outing for my new Paul Henry 6 yard, knife pleated kilt in a nice overchecked Harris Tweed. I will create a review thread on this kilt when I get some more photos taken.
Here's hoping all of you fathers had a great day!
Brooke

Well, not actually on Father's Day, but I attended a wonderful seaside wedding over the weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine (and was kilted at the specific request of the Bride!) Here's a shot of my wife and I with "Walker's Point," the Bush family compound, behind us ...

nice shots. I'd have worn mine to church but my church doesn't approve (well at least my bishop)

I haven't talked to my bishop about it yet, but I know my wife doesn't want me to wear it to church. She might be more open once I get a more personal tartan, but right now she doesn't think it would be appropriate as much as it would be a distraction for other members. We'll have to see how things go in the future, I guess.

For real? That is odd that a person in his position would even say anything to you about it.... I think...

As I've mentioned before, I won't wear kilts to church unless I'm playing the bagpipes there. In my opinion any sort of dress that brings attention to myself works at crosspurposes with what we're there to accomplish. I'm Catholic, have attended and/or piped at most of the Catholic churches in Southern California over the last 35 years, and only once have I seen the dress of the people mentioned. It was a church that had a sign inside the front door listing various forms of dress that the Pastor deemed inappropriate (mostly, about people showing too much skin). Luckily at most churches the people show respect and restraint in such things.
Anyhow, cool Fathers' Day pics!
No kilt for me that day! I spent the day mucking out the shed.
