    New kilt

I got my new kilt from Scottishkilts.net today. A "4 yard" in MacNeil Ancient. It seems very nicely made and the delivery time was outstanding. It was shipped wednesday and here on Friday. Can't beat that. They recieved the order on March 1st.

WOW! Finished and delivered in less than four weeks!
I thought I might order a kilt from them when my paycheck arrives, and now I know I will.

It's 13 oz wool, a casual kilt I guess you'd say. The fit is good and the pleating is very nicely done. It's a two strap rather than 3 and has 2 belt loops at the back for a 2 1/4 belt. The fabric is very nice quality as well. For the price I paid I'm very satisfied with it and the service was beyond my expectations. I mentioned I hoped it would be here in time for Tartan Day and they did it with time to spare. Next time I'm going for the full 8 yard kilt. I should be getting a pic put up soon.

Cool... I'll bet you'll have a lot fun with it. You'll love the 8 yard even more when you get it. 8)

    Snap Bubba!

I picked up a 4 yard kilt today also. This one was something of a gamble as I had not seen the 15oz wool fabric prior to ordering via the Internet nor had I had any dealings with the Company, but I am more than pleased with it. It looks like a plain black fabric but it has a 'tartan' design woven into it which can be seen only in good lighting conditions. They call it "The Hidden Tartan", and there is a photo of it on their website.

The kilt came from www.highlandstore.com in London (although it was tailored in Scotland) This is my first 4 yard kilt, my others being 6 or 8 yards. The pleats are not deep so the 'swing factor' may be reduced, but it was very comfortable when I tried it on in the shop. It is traditionally lined, has two sturdy leather straps and heavy buckles, is properly pleated and has a well-constructed fringe on the front apron.

An amusing aspect of my visit to their shop (near The British Museum) was that, as I walked in, first one and then the second salesmen told me that they recognised me from my Photo Album on the Net. The Manager later asked if I would pose for a photo with him, although I was wearing my brown imitation leather kilt from "TFCK"!!
