Kilt Hose Colour
In your opinion, what is the Best colour Kilt hose to be worn with the Black Watch tartan?
I am thinking either black or Dark Green will look okay.

It all depends upon what else you are wearing, really. My personal preference, always with kilt hose, is to tone it with the kilt but to MATCH it with the shirt or top if possible. You can match the garter flashes with the kilt for best effect - just picking up one of the predominant colours, or even wearing tartan flashes identical to the kilt.
Usually, when buying a tartan kilt or breacan, I'll order a pair of flashes in the same fabric.
Nine times out of ten, regardless of the tartan kilt I might be wearing, I choose to go for beige, oatmeal, natural hose. I've numerous pairs of these and find they go with just about anything, and especially with beige shirts, polos or T's, and with many other shirt colours too.
Avoid white, or off-white, hose though. It has become very popular for wear at weddings and 'dress' events, and is handed out without much thought by kilt hire companies. It's OK but should not be worn as a matter of course.
Really dark coloured hose worn with a dark coloured tartan kilt can make you look bottom-heavy if you are not careful. You should consider the overall top-to-toe effect you present rather than worry about the kilt and hose alone.
Just my opinion!

I tend to go the opposite way to Hamish ie if not wearing the beige/oatmeal hose (which go with ANY kilt) I try to match the hose to the kilt's main colour and wear a toning top. Flashes I don't wear casually, only when "dressed". However, as Hamish says the main point is to consider the overall effect.

White hose for formal, light gray for non-formal (goes good with the blue-green Donegal Tartan)

And, to confuse things even more, I'm usually a dark hose kinda guy... Usually wear bottle green, navy blue, or black... Oatmeal doesn't tend to look as nice as black when combined with doc martens or black hiking boots...
