A questionaire for the lassies......

I recently penned a few questions in order to get a sense of how my wife really felt about me wearing a kilt. I asked for her complete honesty and promised no reactions from me. Most of her answers were predictable, although item 10 she answered "no" . I thought the membership here might also have a bit of fun with them. There are no scores, points, or right/wrong answers... just a sense of perspective from the other side. If you think I've missed something, let me know.

1. When I'm with my husband/boyfriend while he wears a kilt in public,
a. I wish he was wearing trousers instead.
b. I feel slightly embarrassed.
c. I have no feelings about it at all.
d. I feel proud.

2. I believe that it's appropriate for men to wear kilts in public,

b. on special occasions only.
c. when ever they feel like it.

3. The modern style of plain fabric kilts are just as attractive as traditional tartan kilts. Yes. / No.

4. I worry sometimes what family and friends think about my husband/boyfriend wearing a kilt. Yes. / No.

5. I would be happier if my husband/boyfriend wore a kilt,

b. less often.
c. the same.
d. more often.
e. all of the time.

6. I believe that it is important to have a scottish connection for a man to wear a kilt. Yes. / No.

Blu, My wife Steph took the survey and her answers are below.

1. b. Most of the time, I feel slightly embarrassed. If we were at Walmart in our hometown, I would be very embarrassed. At Scottish festivals, it doesn't really bother me.

2. b. I believe it's appropriate for men to wear kilts in public on special occasions only, however, I believe it's their right to wear them at any time.

3. No, I believe kilts are meant to be plaid.

4. Yes, definitely, my father especially doesn't understand the tradition and meaning of the kilt.

5. c. I think he wears it about the right amount.

6. No, anyone can wear a kilt as long as he has an appreciation of the tradation of it.

7. Yes.

8. a. Kilts are for men, skirts are for women.

9. I did not know my husband when he bought his first kilt. When I first found out about it, I was shocked until I came to understand the tradition behind it.

10. Yes, I would be just as happy, but not anymore so than if he wears his kilt.

I printed it out and gave it to her.
this is a very good idea, and helps me understand why she was running hot and cold about me wering my kilts.

(She says she's used to it now.)

(She thinks it's definitely not appropriate to wear kilts every day in todays world.)

(She thinks they might be mistaken for a s***t)

4. I worry sometimes what family and friends think about my husband/boyfriend wearing a kilt. Yes.

(But we've agreed the decission is up to me.)

She's been quite honest with her answers. Still, she doesn't hassle me too much about the issue.
