OK, Tartanistas! I have a challenge for you!

Below, you will see a photo of my local pipe band. They obviously wear the Cameron of Erracht tartan. Well and good. But can anyone hazard a guess as to the mill, colorway and weight of the tartan?

I've almost convinced myself it's House of Edgar, but.....

    Difficult.

From the picture supplied, I think that the third piper from the left has managed to fix his transmission problem, but his daughter remains stubbornly pregnant.

If I had to put a bet on it I would go for Cameron of Erracht Ancient in 13oz wool from House of Edgar. Difficult to be exact when colours on monitors vary, but I am basing this on the fact that the HOE blue is more vivid than the Locharron Strome version.

As a last resort, you could ask one of them.

I'm betting HOE Ancient, but it might be Geoffrey (Tailor) Auld Reekie Ancient, based on the shade of blue.

Thank you, gentlemen! Nice to have my suspicions confirmed, or at least shared, by others!
