    Ah Autumn

I just went out into the garden, the sun is shining in a clear blue sky, the apples and blackberries are drinking it in and there is an air of soft contentment with a few bees about and the occasional snatch of birdsong -

but there is that tang in the air, that round up the ponies and gather the herds feeling, the urge to look to the clothes whilst there is still time.

    Yes - Autumn has arrived.

We were talking about the very same thing yesterday Anne. Its not been the sunniest of Summers up here(550 or so, miles north of you) and we really could do with a serious amount of rain and following a very late spring and dry winter, Autumn appears to be arriving right on schedule with the Rowan berries now nearing full ripeness. Soon we will start to hear the geese passing high above, heading South from Greenland and Iceland---------------------.

Funnily enough, spring arrived here in Melbourne this morning... There's been signs (the lorikeets are back, and there's birdsong at 4am), but today we felt it in the air, and the city tonight was choked with people heading out for dinner and drinks. Let the craziness begin!

    Cheers,

    Cameron

My favourite time of the year, albeit the autumnal season being far better, in my opinion, towards late October and into November - especially here in the Midwestern part of the US where it has suddenly turned hot and humid! Ugh!

Not seen the "mists and mellow fruitfulness" here in Wales just yet.

Late summer in Mid Michigan and we're getting peak temps and humidity. I'm waiting another week or two before donning my great kilt garb for the renaissance festival. It's predicted to be 93/34 degrees Fahrenheit/Celsius on Monday. As it's a holiday weekend here in the US I'll be at ren-faire both Saturday and Monday.
