    Pleasanton 2013 pics

Just got back from Pleasanton, the 148th annual Games. Sorry for the fuzzy pics! I just had my I-thing.

It was so nice to meet some Xmarkers! Here I am with Sailor Tats!

I'm sporting our new band's uniform, PCES kilt et al, quite a contrast to SailorTats' Isle of Skye (too bad I wasn't wearing mine!)

Well mostly the band uniform... instead of the modern band sporrans, I'm wearing a vintage Nicol Bros sporran I picked up on Ebay. And, there's the ubiquitous Tilley hat!

Here's our band compound, our PM moving tape on a chanter

Our side drummers practicing their settings

MacAlester College Pipe Band came all the way from Minnesota

Here, people from various bands watch the pipe band competition. A very interesting kit on the right, pairing a weathered/reproduction colours kilt with vivid red shirt

My favourite booth, House of Bagpipes

OK I suppose... a 4th on Saturday... ain't no prize money for 4th! But I think there were 10 bands in our grade, so not so bad for our first time out.

Congratulations. What grade is your band?

Up at Pleasanton they have a photographer set up to snap photos of the bands just after they've finished competing, a brilliant idea, because it's the only time all day you have everyone together in full kit with instruments!

    Here we are

Thanks for the photos MacMillan's Son! (The first one isn't showing?)

    Richard:

Good job on your band's finish first time out! The weathered kilts and red shirts are the band Greighland Crossing out of BC. Their PM is a good guy and they've got some really good pipers, too.

Some great pics Richard. Thanks for the one of you and I. I was really pleased that I was able to meet up with you face to face as I know we missed one another at the MacNaughton booth earlier.

Here are a few more of you and the band Richard.

I'm not a piping judge, but I thought you all did a great job!!

I have some other photos of event, if you would like I can post them here so we don't have too many Pleasanton threads.
