    Family ties to multiple Clans

Okay....I was thinking today about my family and how I descend from multiple clans....long story to the point. As a Finley, I'm associated with Farquharson.....but should I chose while not at Clan events such as games and the like to wear the Clans of the Matriarchs in my family.....would it be tasteful to wear the Farquharson badge at all times to denote that even though I'm wearing a Clan from my Mothers side.....I'm still a Farquharson. That way I'm paying respects to multiple blood lines but not mixing and matching tartans.

I'm no expert, but I'd say never mix clan symbols, and stick with the clan from which your Dad's family is descended.

    Always.

See, I differ on the stance of One Clan and One Clan only, being that in my humble opinion with all respect to the opinions of others agreeing with me or not, that cuts off a lot of respect towards my mothers family by only wearing and doing things with my patriarchal side of the family. And in my situation (family drama) simplifying it to simply the one side is not an option. I do however only belong to two Clan Associations, Farquharson and Chattan.
That being said...I do see your point and it does make a lot of sense.

I think the easiest and best way is - One Clan At a Time.

You can't pay respects to all your ancestors all the time. There is no need to and no one would expect it.
