I am truly thankful for my luck and life the last week. Last Saturday, I started feeling poorly. Nausea, a little fever, cramping. 'Oh great,' thinks I, 'the flu.' Sunday started with some epic vomiting and more fun. After no rest on Sunday night, Monday was more of the same. Thank goodness my wife is the kind who won't let it go. She finally persuaded me to call the health professionals. After some poking, tests and drugs, the result was: bowel obstruction and PDQ surgery Monday evening. Apparently, a 23 year-old appendectomy scar had sent scar tissue into the immediate area, grabbed my lower intestine and yanked it to one side, kinking it shut. Clearing up the scar tissue cleared up the kink and Tuesday afternoon, I was back home. On the mend with only a small puncture (for the camera) and two incisions the width of a little fingernail (for the laproscopes.) These microsurgeries are a wonder and really get the job done! Now I am back to normal activities, which includes catching up on what I missed here at X Marks the Scot. Great to be here. Even the inevitable 'I told you so's' from my wife.
