Antique silver and hair sporran - another great find!!

I bought this sporran in an auction last week and received it today - I bought it unseen.

The cantle does not seem to be hallmarked but tests as silver. There is black enamel surrounding the celtic knot work. In the same lot was a kilt pin hallmarked Birmingham 1927 manufactured by John Cook and Sons and I presume the sporran is the same vintage.

Also in the lot was a pair of castellated tartan hose foot size 10.5 inches and 18 inches foot to knee

The hose are in perfect condition.

I am considering whether to sell the sporran; I will certainly sell the hose and kilt pin

    That sporran is spectacular!

The hose are amazing too: not a simple diced-with-overstipe pattern, but actually tartan.

I am new to this whole kilted thing, but I really like that sporran! It is so different from the stock cantles you see for sale.
