Ordered a nice daywear plaid
With part of an income tax refund, and some accumulated "points" at the Scotweb site, I've ordered one of their great looking daywear plaids by Dalgliesh, in the Shepherd's Plaid check pattern. http://www.scotweb.co.uk/products/shepherds-plaid-men/
I've read quite a number of threads on here, and day plaids seem to be one of those items that some folks love, some say "meh", and some confuse them with things they are not. I count myself in the camp that likes the look and sees value in the impromptu utility, and think it would be a nice option on a cool spring or autumn day, for myself or to offer to a companion.
I've fallen in love with Dalgliesh fabrics, and can't wait to see the plaid when it arrives in late March. I think it would be a nice addition particularly, on my friend's sheep farm in the nearby Cuyahoga Valley National Park, when she holds events open to the public (I try to help out occasionally, and always wear a kilt). Between lambing days, her springtime "Blessing of the Sheep", the Herding Dog Trials, and similar events, I think it will add just an extra bit of "something" to the look of the kilt. Think of the Richard Ansdell painting of "The Good Shepherd"...
