To save up and get or not to...... Giant's Causeway Tartan.

Hey all, I'm on the fence for my next purchase.....Giant's Causeway Tartan......I was wondering if anyone has it and if you could upload some pics for me to get a more accurate read on whether or not I'd like it.
    Thanks all.

Have a look at this mate:

    http://www.giantscausewaytartan.com/

They mention they supply "Jura" cloth, which I think is Marton Mills, so is presumably readily available.

I am currently sewing up a kilt in Giant's Causeway tartan. It is indeed from Marton Mills (I picked mine up at the mill). The photos on the linked website are actually a pretty good representation of what the tartan looks like in person. I like it a lot.

I've been to that website, but the pictures always show up grainy on my laptop. At least the kilt pictures do. Would you be willing to take some pictures of the kilt that your working on once its finishes. I also noticed that on the website, there are no pictures of the pleats.

Can do, but it might be a while yet as I am only nearly finished with the pleats and will still have quite a bit to do on it.

At the moment, I've made a choice. I ordered the Lochaber tartan from marton mills. It was listed as weathered, but its actually ancient. I'll post pics on this thread once it arrives. I also ordered a "chore" kilt from Stillwater kilts in the Cameron Clan tartan with a "pipers" plaid that I'll use as a "day" plaid for when the wife and I go for hikes/pick-a-nicks. But I do plan on saving up for the giants causeway tartan thanks to Arnot's pictures. Amazing Kilt btw! I'm glad that the green only accents the kilt and not stands out. I tend to actually like the more "somber" tartans if you will. Bright tartans wash me out otherwise. Thank you all for your input.

Be forewarned, the sett size is huge. It's a beautiful tartan, though, and should make a nice kilt.
