Glorieta Pass
This week was the 152nd anniversary of the US Civil War Battle of Glorieta Pass, which was fought by a total of 2,400 Confederate and Union Soldiers, way out near Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have been giving lectures and leading tours related to these events for the University of NM Continuing Education Program this semester.
This weekend was the "living history" reenactment so I went out to visit Pecos National Historic Park and listen to a few lectures.
While driving out of the parking lot I was flagged down by three National Park Rangers, two of them female.
While they were smiling, they were also well armed, so I immediately pulled over and kept my hands on the steering wheel.
They asked me a very simple question about my business, but then all three eagerly asked their real question, which as we all can imagine, was THE question.
While I did exit my vehicle, I was not patted down. Their investigation into the matter is still incomplete. Here is the photo to prove it.

What a pleasant adventure. Thanks for sharing, gordontaos. What is that tartan you are wearing?

I lived there at Glorieta for about a year and a half. I adore that area and consider it a second home.
Sounds like the encounters weren't so bad either

I was wearing my Cold Steel Scottish Spike as my sgian dubh, so that is not what THE question was about.
The tartan is the MacDuff Ancient Hunting, an 8 yard kilt crafted by Kathy Lare of Albuquerque. Interestingly enough THE question was not about which tartan I was wearing.
