Oatmeal commercial
In ancient times, when I was a child, and TV was in it's infancy, there sometimes was an oatmeal commercial on featuring a fully tarted-up tartan wearing highlander. I've lost brain cells beyond measure, and can't for the life of me think of the name of the oatmeal, nor have an inkling of whatever became of it, it just isn't around anymore. Does anyone else share this memory?

Probably this one - Scott's Porrige Oats

Not this one?
(First I've heard of Scott's Porage on this benighted side of the world. I need to find some.)

Thanks, guys, but no, it wasn't Scott's, although I do like the video. Perhaps it could have been Scott's in an earlier guise.
What I'm thinking of would have been broadcast in the early/mid 1950s. Don't know if it makes any difference, but it would have been broadcast regionally by one of two Kansas City TV stations, most likely on Saturday morning, when all the kids were glued to the set. The highlander wore a bonnet, kilt, and all the fixin's. As I think about it more, the cylindrical box had a picture of a thistle on it somehow. I'm driven by a really old and faint memory that all of a sudden just won't go away. I just now remember that an uncle who served in the Philippine Insurrection and Boxer Rebellion would only eat these oats for breakfast.

Umm, I hesitate to suggest Kellogg's OK Cereal... shudder

Gee willikers, it could have been OKs. I'd forgotten all about that, until you posted the video. Whatever happened to OKs? I still can't shake the idea that it was an actual oat meal commercial, though. And the memory of that box with the thistle on it, now that it's stuck in my head, just won't go away. The memory is faint, and goes back a long time. I remember in those days my mother reminding me to wipe the primordial ooze from my feet before coming in the house, it was that long ago.
