No longer a secondhand kilt, now a custom kilt!

I received my Isle Of Skye rebuild yesterday. A big thank you and virtual hugs to wonderful kilt maker. Bonnie is an artist.
While I have enjoyed wearing this kilt, it never felt right. I had to hem it to a usable length but of course the bottom felt heavy and didn't move quite right also the hip was too tight.
I attended a continuing ed class today and wore by "new" custom kilt. It was much more comfortable than any other time I have worn it for an extended period. I received many complements and it was a great icebreaker.
A we are both little rumpled after a long day.

    The pleat shot.

This was a fairly well built kilt but some of the little details have been improved. See the following photos of the under apron right side/reverse pleat.

Great-looking kilt, and you look good wearing it. Love those hose and flashes with it.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I read earlier about the rebuild, IOS is my favorite tartan. Bonnie did a great job and it looks very handsome on you!

Was the kilt an ex-hire? My IOS was and needed to have the canvas and lining replaced. In the process of doing that, noticed that there wasn't a stabilizer either. Took about a day to do the work, but the kilt fit much better afterward. It really is amazing how much the inner structure of a kilt does for a good fit.

No, this was privately owned and had all the internal components. I am just shorter with more "junk in the trunk".
