If I may Mel, and please understand this is not anything to do with rules.

It is usually considered polite to add a few words of comment to a post instead of just a link to some unknown place.

It sort of gives others an idea of what they are about to see.

For example, there was another thread about this units homecoming and a link was posted to the same video in that thread too. But the poster added just a few of his own words as comment. The comments made it pretty plain that the link led to a video of the unit's homecoming celebration and not to some high school or college homecoming event.

This is now my 5th attempt to appologise for being thoughtless, the site freezes up every time I press the "Post Quick Reply" button. This happens quite often.
