Kartoon Kilt

I was reading one of the tabloids here, 'The Sun', and in one of the cartoons 'George and Lynne', there's a kilted guy walking past them.
He's not part of the story there's no mention of Scotland he's just going to the chip shop.
For you Americans to understand why I'm so surprised at this, the Sun would be like, the Redneck Times over there I suppose.
There is a website where you can see it but I'm too useless to post a link but just google the sun newspaper and you'll find it, the cartoons are near the bottom.

In German it's called "Scholle". Fish and Chips are made from Plaice? I can't figure out the joke in the strip.

Anyway the lad in the Kilt has nothing do do with the joke.

Wolfgang the spelling plaice means a fish instead of place meaning a geographical spot. It's set in a Fish and chip shop so there's a double meaning.

I read it for the articles Hamish, the journalism is unbiased, crisp, prescise and accurate, and the subjects are always informative.
Really it's because they use words of one syllable use plenty of pictures and rarely let the truth get in the way of a good story.
I also like to use it as a weather vane, the sun I'm afraid is a good indicator of the mood of the country as they use various psyche techniques to influence the way the 'common man' feels/thinks.
As a prole myself I like to keep an eye on folk who want to manipulate me.
Also it was lying around in the bank while I was queing.
BTW Hamish I'll be posting an update soon on little Hamish, as predicted the colours changing slightly to more of a siamese cat type. Oh and he's a she

I see, it's a pun, a play on words (Plaice <> Place). Very funny. I would like to see Dilbert* in a Kilt.

The Kilt in the comic strip only shows that Kilts are a an everyday occurrence. Forget thinking about beeing someone special wearing a Kilt.

From what I have seen of this strip previously, (er, when perusing someone else's paper), there is usually some kind of titillation involved, e.g. Lynne is often topless.

I wonder if the intention here was to provide some interest for the ladies, as we all know the ladies love a kilted man!

Anyway, nice to see a kilt featured, but what on earth was his kiltmaker thinking? Looks like the result of a nasty accident at the tartan factory.

p.s. for the record, I once visited a fish & chip shop kilted, though I didn't buy plaice.
