    Tartan Skirt

Hey, I keep looking in a lot of different places for a floor length skirt in my tartan. There is nothing available that isn't silk and I was looking for something in the PV world. I have googled it and went to individual kilt makers websites and I wonder if anyone has had anything like this made. I would ask Rocky at USA Kilts to make me one but i was wondering if anyone has had one made that is a full skirt that is wide at the bottom.

    Any advice would be great

    Thank you

I suspect you will be better off buying the fabric and taking it to someone near you. Fairly or otherwise, women are perceived to be more difficult to please and many makers prefer to see the eventual wearer face to face. Is your objection to silk financial? If so, you may be lucky enough to find that yours is one of the dozen or so tartans that show up regularly in Indian dupioni silk on eBay.

Is this the sort of thing you are looking for?

This Hostess skirt is listed by one of our advertisers.

Like Steve says they are called hostess skirts, some of them are "kilt style" with buckles and some are pleated skirt style. A google search of "tartan hostess skirt" yielded quite a few nice options.

My opposition to silk is not financial per se, more that I have always found silk to be delicate and I am not a delicate desert blossom. I am more rough and tumble and want something that can hold up. I saw one that was not pleated but floor length full skirt that looked amazing and I watched her get tons of compliments on it. The only hostess skirts I had seen in person had been mid calf and didn't seem as full. I suppose anything can be made for the right price so I should say I am price aware also.
More like this one : http://www.scotweb.co.uk/products/soft-pleat-skirt/
I should also say that I am still looking as they don't have my tartan listed as one they make that with.....
