Buckle up for more questions
I like the traditional kilt buckle in all it's wonderful designs, but also prefer a somewhat narrower belt than what seems to be standard, ie 2.25".
Do those buckles come in say 1.5" belt widths?
thanks lads

Graham,
If you are talking about the buckles from Tandy or The Leather Factory, buckle widths range from 3/8 inch to 3 inches. And prices range from a few cents to well over $20.00 USD.
Try http://www.tandyleather.com/ and http://www.leatherfactory.com/

Thanks guys. There aren't any leather shops that deal in hides and hardware around here anymore, just leather clothing shops and a shoe repair guy, but none of them will sell parts, only repairs and finished products.

Thanks Doc. I had forgotten about then stocking the different belt buckles. Living in the Dallas are we did have a lot of Tandy Craft stores around but to date I can't think of any. I need some new buckles and stuff.
Thanks for the memory jogger.

At one point, Tandy closed all their retail outlets and went to strictly mail-order. I guess they lost lots of business, just as I predicted when I wrote them protesting the closings.
In any event, they have reopened a growing list of stores. They don't have anything like as many as they once had (62 versus over 300), but there are 2 Tandy Stores in the Dallas area, 2 in Ft. Worth, 2 in the Houston area, and 1 each in Austin, El Paso, and San Antonio.
If there is not a list of store addresses on the Tandy Website, send me an e-mail and I will send you the addresses and phone numbers I have in the most recent sale catalog.
