    Across the Wide Missouri

This photo is up for sale on Ebay.

    Note the famous faces!

Never heard of this movie. Interesting use of kilts in an American Western film!

I wonder who the piper is, or if it's a piper, or just an extra. Note that he's wearing a Cameron Highlanders pipers' sporran, a rather rare item, but which some Hollywood eejit has damaged by punching holes in the cantle front and sticking the tassels' cords through, rather than using the holes in the sporran body which are there for that purpose.

Wow….what a line up! As an Old Movie Fan, I'll be keeping an eye out for this one on TCM….

….Ricardo Montalban as an Indian…casting that would be considered politically incorrect these days…but I'm sure that ol' Ricardo cashed his paychecks anyway.

He's not all that recognizable without his glasses, but the other kilted Scotsman is played by Alan Napier, Alfred the Butler from 1960s TV's Batman. I saw this movie on TCM probably, and if I recall correctly Napier plays a shady employee of the Hudson Bay Company who tries to hood-wink Clark Gable's character on his trek westward. It's a good movie.

TCM had this movie on not too long ago. At least within the last few months. I had never seen it before. Unfortunately, I fell asleep and did not see all of it.

No need to wait for it to come on TV (Do people still have cable?) As you can find darn near anything on YouTube. Watch the movie at the link below.
