    Fabric sporrans?

Are there any examples of sporrans made entirely of cloth? Has it been done? I mean nice ones with metal cantels and such. Just kicking around an idea.

Harris tweed maybe but face it; fabric is boring compared to leather or fur. If you have an occupation that screams a certain choice of something...that could be fun.

I guess my only concern would be durability. I have had my 2 leather sporrans for quite some time. I would think one of fabric just would not hold up to regular use.

Stillwater Kilts made one out of nylon for a while; I don't know if it's still available or not.

I have one, but wouldn't consider it appropriate to mount a chrome cantle to.

Aside from the Stillwater, what about some sort of luxurious auld tyme fabric? Perhaps mounted to an antique stirling cantel? Just trying to figure a way to make a silk purse . . .
