Hi all I'm looking for a little help on a phrase and it's pronunciation. My daughter is getting married (her second his first) his parents are Welsh. I would like to say welcome to the family in Welsh preferably so I want to know how to pronounce it. Any help would be appreciated his dad speaks Welsh so the pronunciation is very important slainte David
Don't know a lot of Welsh, but hello (good day) is bori da, pronounced like it sounds (borry dah). Slainte means good health, but in Gaelic, which is a different language from Welsh. In Irish Gaelic (as opposed to Scots Gaelic) you would say it like slan-shuh, but that's not much help if you are trying to speak Welsh, LOL!
