Ways to store/transport pipe band uniform?

Now that I have acquired a pipe band uniform with the doublet, horse hair sporan, ect. I am finding it difficult to store it in a normal hanging clothing bag without deforming things. What ways have you guys with the full dress uniform found works best for you to store and transport? I would like to be able to keep it all together when storing so that I I can simply pick up one thing, go to my destination with it all there, ready to go, and in presentable shape.

I gather the problem is storing and transporting with the doublets not getting creased. The garment bags I have searched on line do not offer many options for a rigid top without costing a good bit of change.
A cheaper bag that will hold several suit (like the photo) has enough room to add a strip of some material that will keep the shoulders of your jacket rumple free. Consider a slat of 1/4 inch plywood with a hole drilled (to allow the hanger hook to pass through) that fits inside of the garment bag. Plexiglass would be less likely to leave shavings on your jacket though.

I hope other members have suggestions for you as well.

I made garment travel bags for my sister's riding jackets + accessories.

The shaping was very similar to the one shown. I sandwiched thick plastic cut from a crazy carpet into the top of the bag to keep it stiff. These bags protected the shaping of the jackets and the wide top prevented the clothing from being flattened due to crowding. She used several when she travelled to horse shows. I made a little clear plastic pocket just below the curved edge which would hold a card with the jacket fabric adhered to it. This made choosing the right bag a cinch. I made all her jackets so the cards were made at the same time.

These bags took some time to make, but they are still in use, in excellent condition and worth everything that went into them.

You don't have to put in all the extras that I did, and there are some choices which will make this a fairly simple bag to make.

I will do a tutorial based on my memory - I made these about 25 years ago (am I that old?!!!) - and post it in the Tutorials & How-To's section later today.

I have about four or five of the "Outfitter" by Gaelic Themes in my shop. I use them for rentals. These are very heavy duty carriers with additional pockets for the accessories.

These are more like luggage than garment bags for hanging in your closet. I have yet to wear one out.
I have put three full outfits in one bag so one uniform would not be a problem at all.

One of the features of these that I like is the heavy duty grommets inside that the hangers fit into when this is folded.

The jacket I just have on a hanger in a garment bag.

Everything else I have thrown into a plastic tub/box with snap-on lid. I started putting everything in the one box so I couldn't forget anything; as you know there's a surprisingly large number of things:

-shoes
-socks
-diced hosetops
-flashes
-spats
-sgian
-shoe-horn

(and we've just now left the lower legs!)

-kilt
-kilt pin (if any)
-sporran
-sporran belt
-doublet
-waistbelt
-crossbelt
-dirk
-plaid
-plaid brooch
-sergeant's sash (if any)
-headdress

Then there's the pipes, and don't forget the drone ribbons!

Here's the lot, plus a sword!
