LA Anime Expo 2015 in kilt
LA Anime Expo always falls on or near my daughter's birthday so once again we did the father/daughter thing.
(No pics of her, she gets annoyed when I try to take her picture, oftentimes.)
So, one sees many things like this, elaborate costumes that I have no clue about

The two outer characters are from "Attack on Titan" my daughter informs me. In the middle is Zelda.

Here I am with... well, I have no idea. But she asked to have her pic taken with me, so I turned tables and asked likewise. I'm in non-authentic Anime Expo mode, more or less Boer War. No, the cylinder with the strange face isn't emerging from my helmet, it's an optical illusion, I hope.

And here's a giant rat!

And a girl with wings!

Thanks! Here's the real Boer War uniform of a piper of The Black Watch.

Richard,
Great photos. You are far ahead of me in knowing what character is what. I do not have the benefit of anyone who could fill me in. LOL Love what you did with your outfit. But I have to ask, the picture of the Boer War soldiers, the uniforms look hot enough, but the poor bloke in the leopard skin had to be mighty uncomfortable: quite interesting looking but uncomfortable. And by the way, sit down and watch Jumanji. It was a good film for Robin Williams.
By the way, happy holiday weekend to you and your family.

I first thought you tried to be the Scottish version of Van Pelt of Jumanji! Great pics!

When the opportunity arises that you attend such a display of unusual costumes, accuracy falls to the way side. Your "more or less" arrangement makes you look like another action figure of the illustrated periodical genre.

It was odd, people kept coming up to me and saying "Jumanji?" or "Jumanji!"
One guy even said "Please tell me you're from Jumanji!"
I had to admit I've never seen Jumanji.
But later I Googled it and found out what the deal was: there's a character in Jumanji that wears that same pith helmet. Maybe next year I'll do that costume!
