Kilt-Length Blazer
I am searching for a dark navy blue kilt-length blazer without any luck. Does anyone know where I might find something like this, or have it made?
I am specifically wanting a Patch Pocket Club Blazer styled jacket to have the embroidered clan crest applied to the chest pocket for clan functions.

Alright I will stick my head above the parapet. Most would consider that your Clan tartan, several yards of it in the kilt, is more than enough "advertising" with perhaps a Clan badge in your bonnet(should you choose to wear one) as an acceptable addition, anything more would be regarded by many as overkill. Major overkill. Whilst it is entirely your choice, can I suggest a re-think on this.
Just saying.

I think the blazer with the clan crest is a fine idea - for when you are in Saxon attire.

These gentlemen, formally of the 4th Royal Tank Regiment, have sewn their embroidered regimental badges onto standard argyll jackets.

Sorry Bruce, the OP was asking about a Clan Crest, not Regimental ones. In passing I have not seen a kilt cut jacket with a Regimental badge on it in Scotland. It may happen of course, but I have not seen it.

Hi Jock, Yes, I was aware of that. I simply used the picture to illustrate how others have dealt with the issue of a badge on a kilt jacket, ie, no need for a specially made blazer with patch pocket.
4 RTR, sadly no longer on the ORBAT, recruited in Scotland and these fellows are at an old comrades reunion at Bathgate.

Not to mention the RTR badged sporrans, belt buckles, bonnets and plaid brooches - all worn with the regimental ties and badged jackets.
The tartan is Rose (Hunting) - ". . . the Pipes and Drums of the Regiment are privileged to wear the Hunting Rose Tartan of the Roses of Kilravock (pronounced Killrock), a unique distinction bestowed on the Regiment in 1972 by Miss Elizabeth Rose, present Baroness of Kilravock and Clan Chief."

Funnily enough I had thought of the regimental badge on the blazer thing when I read the first post and wondered if anyone did it with a kilt jacket. I also think that the military/vet/civilian aspect is slightly different to the pure civilian/Clan aspect.
Well alright, let us take the three tank men as an example. I do not recognise the tartan(Rose perhaps?), my eyes are not that sharp these days, but let us assume its a Regimental tartan. So, we have a 4th Tanks tartan(?),, I assume a 4th Tanks tie and a 4th Tanks badge on their chest, overkill? For me, yes
So lets go to the Clan example that the OP was enquiring about. MacOnion tartan, MacOnion Clan badge on the chest, Overkill? I think so. We could even load the scene even more if we choose, MacOnion tartan flashes, a MacOnion tie, MacOnion hose, and a MacOnion fly plaid.Overkill?
So, it all relies on the eye of the beholder and the military/vet aspect is something that is probably going to be a slightly different tradition to pure civilian requirements, however I think the picture of those three Tank men(are they members of a pipe band, I wonder? Civilians just do not dress like that in Scotland) does illustrate perfectly the danger of overdoing things and if we go back to the OP's question, in pure civilian terms several yards of Clan tartan in the form of the kilt, is more than enough to show the world which team one is batting for!
