    Marine Corps hymn in bagpipes?

In the Sgt. Farr thread, there's a mention of him playing the USMC hymn on his 'pipes. Gives me chills thinking about it.

Anybody know of a recording of that? Not Sgt. Farr necessarily.

I'll be checking the 'pipe music sites (Lismor) but I can't see a Scottish label offering such a thing.

This is a link for a CD that has the Marine Corps Hymn on it, but there is a full brass band playing at the same time. There is a clip though, and the bagpipes are definitley heard.

    Thanks much!

I spent extra time on their site just to enjoy the background music. Loads quick (on cable modem) and sounds really good.

Though never a Marine myself, and the son of a SEAL, I do have the greatest respect and admiration for the Corps.

    Marines

Our local piper plays it for the annual Memorial Day ceremony at the National Cemetery in Springfield; he also plays "Taps", which is very haunting on the pipes (and a tune you do not associate with them!) He also plays it when our Scottish Society has a colour guard in the Remembrance (Veteran's) Day parade (we carry the US, UK, Scottish, Canada, Australia and New Zealand flags).

    Cheers!

I know this is an old thread but here is a link to see.
The band I play in had the honor to play for a young Marine KIA in Iraq. A photographer put this together.

I don't know where you can get a record of it but at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball my command hand on the 7th of Nov we had a bag pipe Corps dettachment and they played, Amazing Grace, Taps, and the Marine Corps Hymn. It was amazing. It made my skin crawl and that doesn't happen to easily.
