National Tartan Day a no go for me
I got all fired up about this as there's a gathering of sorts up by the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado.
Then I realized it was the same day as my daughter's wedding.
No worries, I'll wear a kilt to the wedding!
"No kilts." She says with that same look and intonation as her mother used that brooked no discussion, let along argument.
Not to worry, I've resolved to wear nothing but kilts (well shirt, shoes and socks too) for the days before and after the wedding. Might even go quick-like change into the Gunn Weathered great kilt and 18th c. shirt I should have by then for the reception! Hah! Youth and skill are ever overcome by old age and treachery!

Sooo, if you are still interested, there is a tartan day festival April 9th & 10th @ the boulder county fairgrounds in longmont. That would be better than to miss all of the tartan day festivities. I'll even pour you a dram at my Clan tent (MacPherson). Slainte!

Thanks for the invite but I'd best be at the wedding. We're in Bayfield, just east of Durango.
When we were moving here my friends would say, "So, you're gonna be by Denver?"
We'd say, "Actually about as far from Denver as you can be and still be in Colorado."

I'm in a situation too, but a perpetual one: Tartan Day falls on my wife's Birthday.

I suppose you could always petition the powers that decide when such things fall for a change of date, eh?

Start a petition to move Tartan Day to a more appropriate date
