Greetings from Ontario, Canada
Greetings everyone.
I have just recently discovered this forum and have been so impressed with it I decided to join. Just a quick bit about myself, I am retired military, originally from the east coast of Canada, (we are called Maritimers) but after a long career settled in Ontario. I love the outdoors, cross-country skiing, bagpipe music, fly-fishing, gardening and tweed in that order. I am of Scottish, Irish, and English decent. My Mother was a Smith, and y Great Grandmother a Maxwell. I married well, my wife is from Scotland, and being a Macdonald, she and my in-law's have proud sense of heritage. I grew up with a good sense of my Scottish heritage, my Father was a member of the 3rd Battalion Canadian Black Watch and was a proud member of the Canadian Maxwell Clan Society. I currently sport a kilt in the Smith tartan (modern) and proudly wear it on special occasions. My wife has recently been encouraging me to wear it more often. So thanks to this forum, I have found many resources towards kilt wear outside the formal, and am now in the middle of a tweed sport coat conversion. I look forward to making acquaintances in the forums.

 Where abouts in Ontario are you from? There are several members from Ontario including myself. If you are anywhere near Toronto we have a kilt night at the Caledonian Pub the first Tuesday of the month, tomorrow is Tartan Tuesday for April. For information here are a couple of links

Thank you for the info and invite. I am a bit far from TO. I am in the Kingston area. However I will keep this in mind. Not often but on occasion I am in the GTA, and assuming my visit coincides with the date, I shall make an effort to attend.
