What to do with a black plastic Bag and a cornflakes packet
Yes what you've all been wondering ...Well I'll tell you .
While waiting for my next kilt me and a mate turned my kitchen into a sporran making workshop.
We have purchased some leather and we are practicing our skills. We've copied a pattern from "So your going to wear the kilt."
Our first we made using a thick plastic binliner and a cornflakes packet. (Not chancing a mistake with the real leather). The results I'll post tomorrow.
The real thing will have to wait until October.(The hunting season starts in September so my mates off to the woods). So while waiting for that kilt you ordered have a go it's really therapeutic. And loads of fun.

I do have to say, that's the first sporran of that kind I've ever heard of.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm picturing some "Bubba" down South just BEGGING to have a cereal box sporran to go with his blanket kilt, and traditional Scottish duct tape belt.
OH..... my sides are hurting.

I've already done it! It is the only sporran I have.I am very pleased with it, there is lots of room and I can easily fit my hand in to root around.
I will have my wife and daughter help me to get some pics on so you can see it.

forgot something. If you don't have a sewing machine that will go through the leather look for a cobbler(shoe repair) or a saddlery shop.We have Amish here where we live so I cut out the pattern and rubber cemmented it together and took it to them. They also made a belt for me from harness leather with a nice brass buckle. I also did a mock up with immitation leather to eliminate any mistakes before using my good leather.
Good luck

A few months ago I was in a store and saw a Marvin The Martian CD carrier. It was Marvin's head with a zipper where the mouth was. It was flat on the back and I was real tempted to turn it into a sporron! I'm sorry I didn't get it now but if I ever see one again IT'S MINE!
