What type of blouse with wife's hostess skirt
Hello all,
The wife has a new Elliott hostess skirt.
We need to find a nice blouse for her to wear to Stone Mountain.
We need some guidance on acceptable styles.
I typically wear traditional style ie button shirt, brouges.
We wish to look appropriate together.

My wife, AKA Mrs Jock, usually wears white or cream long sleeved blouse, made from cotton, linen or silk , sometimes with subtle and sparse embroidery on them, when wearing a hostess style tartan(mine) skirt. If cold then a woollen cardigan of appropriate colour and patterns often floral (not tartan) and rarely, but sometimes, a short tartan jacket in a matching tartan to the skirt and sensible leather shoes(not clumpy army style boots!) if walking over grass.

I would not argue with anything Jock Scot suggests, but would add that a dark coloured knitted sleeveless bolero is useful for a little extra warmth without distracting too much from the elegance of the blouse.

My wife just wears something simple - white, black, navy, cream, etc. and lets the tartan do the talking. Style varies with temperature and since our games tend to be in hot summer weather something light is usually going to be the best answer.

"Acceptable" can mean just about anything. And, Georgia can be very warm or quite chilly in October. A long skirt might be too hot to wear; then again, she might need a jacket of some sort, regardless of blouse choice.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Initially, reading the title, I thought, since you're borrowing her skirt, just ask her which blouse to put with it. Then sanity
(I have no idea whose) kicked in and I opened it the thread to find the more mundane reality. Although, this being Atlanta,
you might be amazed how few looks you'd get. I've seen more than one man in a woman's kilt at Stone Mountain.
In agreement with advice above. Stone Mountain may blazing hot or quite cool. Or both in the same day. I wear tees,
mostly. Sometimes long sleeves to the games on Saturday, but usually regret it.
