    beautiful 1936 sporran

    This photo was taken at the Isle Of Skye Highland Games in Portree in 1936.

    R-L is James Blair Robertson, Pipe Major 2nd Battalion Scots Guards, Captain Kemble, and Edward David Murray, Viscount Fincastle.



    While all the attire is lovely, I was particularly taken with Captain Kemble's ornate Hunting Sporran:



    I'm reminded of these Royal sporrans:





    (BTW Viscount Fincastle's parents were Alexander Murray 8th Earl of Dunmore and Lucinda Kemble, daughter of Colonel Horace William Kemble, so presumably this Captain Kemble is a relative.)
