    Fascinating documentary. Thank you for posting.

    Pray tell, can anyone tell me what they were doing with the fabric at the end of the video? It looks like they were breaking it in, but to what purpose? The method seemed very ritualized.

    I cannot see the film, but from what you describe with the cloth softening treatment the term is known as,"waulking."
