Show me your Weathered Lamont kilts please

    Hello all,

My next kilt will likely be in the Weathered Lamont tartan. I haven't seen anyone wearing it, so can those in the rabble who have one please post a picture of it. Casual wear, day wear, formal wear...any will be just fine. I was thinking of using it for formal wear as well as casual/day wear.

    Thanks to all,

    Larry

I don't wear mine often because it's a few sizes too big and I haven't had it altered yet, but I'll pull it out and model it for you. Stay tuned...

I will undoubtedly wear this kilt more often once I have the straps repositioned, since it's currently about three sizes too big; it will look especially good with my grey Araca tweed Argyle jacket, which I currently don't wear very often either, and would also of course compliment a brown tweed jacket. Lamont Weathered also matches perfectly with a black, brown, dark grey or white sporran in either fur or leather. In the photos I'm also wearing a pair of cable knit "oatmeal" lederhosen socks, which I think pair well with the "earth" tones of many Weathered tartans.

    Loving the Lamont

Gentlemen I love this thread I have only worn my Lamont weathered a few times as my modern normally feels more appropriate for the events I attend but love wearing weathered to Highland games etcetera. I will try and get some pics uploaded. Are you fellow ?

Very Smart! This perfectly illustrates my points about Weathered tartans--they can really take your kilted options in a whole other direction. Well Done!

That is precisely what appeals to me about weathered (and ancient) tartans--the more muted and "earthy" tones are a versatile alternative to the bright, primary colours more common to modern tartans, especially for informal/casual/country wear, sporting events, etc. I am more or less always on the hunt for kilts in weathered tartans, and often wish they were more widely available off-the-peg...
