    Packing a kilt

It seems as though I read somewhere that to pack a kilt in a suitcase one should roll it up and pull a pantyhose leg over it to secure this rolled state.

    Is that true?

    Did I dream it?

    Any other (zero-cost) suggestions?

    Thanks!

Now, I have read this as well, so you didn't imagine it. In fact, I believe the deal was for one to store kilts in this fashion in general. Has anyone either tried this or have another good suggestion for the storage of kilts whilst in transit or simply while not being worn?

    Thanks Phil!
I was just about to pack my kilt and was about to
search for the old thread. No need to now.

Yes, roll them with the pleats on the outside of the roll, for transportation. Slipping them into the legs of tights/pantyhose is very good, but remove them and hang them ASAP after arrival at your destination.

As Phil says, for normal storage kilts should be hung and covered with a suit cover. Personally, I cut the bottoms off of the closed, or zippered, covers so as to allow the air to circulate. Another good reason for using the covers is that they prevent the pleats of one kilt getting caught in those of another when you have several hanging side by side.

How about cutting the legs off your pants and then slip your rolled up kilts in them? I bet you can slip two kilts in pant leg.

    Packing a kilt?

Is that like packing heat? Iron? Lead?

I have a kilt... And I know how to use it!

Do you need a permit to carry such a fearsome weapon?
