Disadvantaged in a kilt
I had a lovely hike today in the Tasmanian Highlands, we walked through some beautiful rainforest.
When I returned to the vehicle I had a bit of irritation on my rear, low and behold a LEECH!
Leeches are part of the deal when walking in wet areas, but I've never had one there, of course, my wife in trousers had a good laugh and pointed to the obvious disadvantage of kilts!

Graham did you sit down somewhere? Were you swimming? I can't imagine how this happened. Leaches I know of up here are pretty much water bound and I have never heard of one climbing up a persons leg.
Anyhow you got a new one here for us to watch out for, but I ain't giving up a wearing a kilt because of it!

Presumably, fun for the midges though Alan!

Graham, I hope you delt with the blood sucker. I have had a few leeches on me in my time. Not a nice creature to have attached to you indeed. Anyway, I guess that's one of the disadvantagees of Kilting .

Leaches will find a way to attach themselves to you no matter what you wear. Even pants don't stop em.

I was scannning the thread and I thought that said Leprechauns.
The first thought in my mind was, "Indeed. Those bloody leprechauns are grabby little buggers."
No idea where my mind has been today.

I think I'll take leeches over midges any day, I hear they are a real problem in Scotland.
Here they hang on the end of branches and ferns waiting for a warm blooded creature to pass by.
Since kilted men are hot blooded souls, I guess I was an obvious target, but in trousers I would never get one on the bum.
A small matter, but humorous to share, that's all
