    USA Kilts Visit

I've driven by the "local kilt shop" a couple times over the years. It's down a stretch of road I seldom have reason to travel. Last year when I drove by it looked like they'd gone out of business. (Turns out they were doing renovations at the time.) Anyhow, it turns out that the local kilt shop is USA Kilts.

I didn't buy anything today. Just breaking up the monotony while the wife and kids are out of town. The staff was very kind and very helpful, especially to someone as new to the whole thing as myself. I've been struggling with sporrans but, I believe I've made my choice, and paycheck + bills willing, I'll go back to pick one up this coming week. And when the time comes for a tartan, I absolutely plan on getting mine there.

If any of you are in or near the Pottstown, PA area, I really recommend the visit!

USA Kilts is awesome! I make it a point to stop by their store once a year, on my way from eastern Massachusetts, to a medieval camping event in western PA (called "Pennsic"; north of Pittsburgh). I always find their staff to be knowledge-able and helpful.

I had to laugh when I saw your reference to Pennsic. I met my wife of 25 years at ... Pennsic. We don't play much any more but try to keep our SCA membership current. It is great to see another SCAdian on XMarks.

I would love to visit, but being in California presents a bit of a problem

However I will be in Reading PA the first weekend in June attending the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend.

Hmmm... Google says it's only an hour away...

    1) WWII Weekend is GREAT!
    2) Reading is indeed quite close-by. 45 minutes is about right (depends where in reading of course some parts are a good bit closer).

    Safe travels in June!

I've been to the WWII air show quite a few times. Mac (production manager) actually re-enacts there that weekend. I also bought the artwork for my finished basement ("man cave") there... part of the fuselage of a 1945 Navy Trainer plane. A great time for sure. :-)

And he's right... it's only 45 minutes away (and a pretty straight shot at that). When I googled it with the current traffic, it's telling me 37 minutes.

And Lucas asked if you could bring that "bird cantle sporran" with you. He (and I) would love to see it in person. :-)

Well well this is getting more and more tantalizing.

Thing is, I'm only there the one day. So I would have to fit it the USA Kilts before or after I attend the show. I'll have to think on it.

BTW I wasn't planning to bring any Highland Dress with me. But I'll bring my Edwardian thing if I conclude that I can fit USA Kilts into that day.

I was planning to dress like this
