Prayers and thoughts for London England this evening as the news unfolds.

Dreadful news. The police response was outstanding and undoubtedly prevented the situation being far worse.

Without wishing to belittle this in any way, the Dreamstime image is upside down. It's the National flag and there is only one way to fly is correctly.

You'r right on all counts (assuming that the pole is on the left!) I'll correct it when I get downstairs to the proper computer.

There was a car parts store near us that flew flags of all the brands they sold parts for. They were mortified when I informed them that their Union Jack was upside down!

Yeah. I'm embarrassed because I do know the difference as you can see from my "edit" but I was rushing to download a graphic and get this up on the site and I didn't look, just trusted the website. When I went back, about 40% of the graphics were upside down, so I need to be a lot more careful in future.

If it's any consolation I was at a military barracks earlier in the year when the flags were at half mast and was horrified to see the main one was upside down. When I pointed it out some of the younger officers didn't know that there was a right and wrong way - I was speechless.

Half mast of course doesn't mean half way down although it's common to see that mistake too.
