frustrated
I gotta say I'm getting more and more frustrated with trying to post photos on this site ....I do it always the same way using the little icon suggested by others and sometimes the photos are up loaded and sometimes not, even in the same posting the message that the uploading has failed will come up between trying to post photo files of the same size........The photos I have to post aren't any more important or interesting than anyone else's but having said that, over time I have really enjoyed the photos others have posted....and perhaps that same enjoyment was given to others looking at my photos. I see a thread complaining about PhotoBucket or some such. I don't use that so that is not part of my problem
If I am having this problem likely so are others .....and that's too bad, because it means so many other interesting photos aren't being shown as well .....Perhaps a more comprehensive fix to the site is what is needed to cure the problem........just a thought

I only have trouble if the connection is slow, which it always is here or I'm doing it on the phone and the phone is bogging down. Site itself seems to work fine.

I also do not use PhotoBucket and I have only occasionally had the same issue as derosa. Some my connection, such as when on a mobile device with limited bandwidth, I have had to upload the image more then once. There are a lot of things that can do this on a lot more servers and switches then most people realize and I would not be surprised if the PhotoBucket issue has something to do with. There are people using more of the bandwidth on ISP servers then normal re-uploading images on several sites and forums, not just on this forum.
P.S.: I have worked as an electrical engineer and have set up networks before those jobs were off-shored

Terry,
I have found that is the file size of the photo is large, it will not upload using the picture icon. What I do in that case is:
1. crop the photo to see if that will bring the file size down to acceptable, and if not
2. email it to myself and choose "small" for the attachment size when prompted before sending. I then choose the email-to-myself small file-size photo to upload without difficulty.
I use Apple/Mac products, so I do not know how one chooses the email attachment size for a photo in Windows systems.

Thank-you, Taskr, for a logical explanation......When I take photos I always use a larger file size that I can print large photos from, and that may be the reason some photos can't be up loaded and some can ......I'll try what you suggest....I do use a PC so I don't think I can choose a smaller file size but I will give it a look at. With a little experimentation I may be able to figure out what file size this forum will accept ......I do notice some fellows post quite large photos but they may have resolved the uploading differently ...Thanx again I appreciate your help
