Help identifying a Regiment please

Hello all - I've been trying to identify which unit my great grandfather was in and when from the attached photograph. No checks on the glengarry, no obvious stripe on the kilts and three sporran tassels but I can't nail down the unit.

He lived from 1872 to 1937 in Fettercairn.

Can any of you help me with this please?

Well met Iain. I do not see a photo (if you tried to attach one). I'm not sure I can help with the identification of the unit your great grandfather belongs but am glad you joined us.

If there is a badge on the bonnet, that would help but without a photo there is no way to answer your question.
