The House of Labhran Edward VIII Style

    Hi guys,

I am one of those lucky members who is getting a run of tartan made by Robin at Andrew Elliot Ltd. The tartan is Fraser of Struy (Altyre) which Peter MacDonald has written and researched extensively about. When I get the tartan tailored into a kilt I want this to be my #1. I have been a kilt wearer for many years but I have never invested in a jacket or waiscoat because I didn't want to get a Charlie jacket and I was very picky about what I wanted.

I recently came across The House of Labhran. They seem to make some pretty amazing products and I know that they are expensive. I was wanting to know what people thought of them. They offer the Edward VIII Style Two Button Tweed Crail Kilt Jacket which ticks all the boxes for what I am looking for.

I was wondering if anyone on here has purchased from them before or if anyone has purchased this jacket. I would love to hear what your thoughts are!

    Best,
    Adam

Magnificent jacket choices Adam. The last coat I had with leather buttons (mid 1960's) was classy with its folded cross fasteners.
    I found a photo.

I feel the price would be worth the quality and options offered.

My most recent purchase was for two tartan waistcoats. They were well made and the service was cordial. But, waistcoats are easier to fit than a jacket.

    Adam ,

I have purchased from The House of Labhran and found their products and services to be first rate .

Last year I purchased a " made to order " hunting sporran in their " antique leather " option . The sporran was very well made and their customer service was superb.

Here are a couple of pics .

I was very pleased with the sporran and their service , I don't think you could go wrong with any purchase from them .

    Cheers , Mike

Wow! Thanks for the great responses! I am actually quite pleased to hear of your good experiences with them, Mike and Jack. It is so important to know what their quality and service is like from customers. I really want one of their sporrans too but I need to be a bit patient as the cost of the jacket alone will be enough for a while.

Tarheel, do you have any photos of yourself in that jacket? I would love to see!

    Kind regards,
    Adam

After my mother's death (2009) the pictures from my youth were scattered. I was nine years old when I had that jacket. Good memories last, long after the physical evidence is lost. Sorry Adam.
