You're probably seeing them on your computer, because they exist on your computer, and the link in the thread is pointing to files on your computer.

How did you add them to your post? Did you use the "Insert Image" button on the toolbar?

For the forum to have access to upload photos it cannot go through third party servers like web mail, VPN's or some firewalls.
