Should I forget about a brown belt and sporran?

Hi guys,I have spent a fortune trying to find the right look I'm trying for.I wanted all brown accessories, but nice brown sporrans seem very hard to find, so I just got one of the cheap ones from Pakistan, and brown belts are even harder to find.I just picked up a belt that I thought might work, but it looks terrible with regular brown colors, and the leather is incredibility cheap particle leather that doesn't even smell like leather.

I started out with brown leather boots, but will be receiving some yellow nubuck boots today.I'm thinking since the nubuck is neither brown or black, that maybe I could wear either a black or a brown sporran with them.I don't want to wear brown boots with a black belt and sporran is what I'm trying to say.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.610utWOANAL._UY700_.jpg2inchtanbelt4dragons.jpeg14557_ez1_zoom2.jpg61deQMPzjjL._UY300_.jpg

We make these fashion problems for our selves don't we......it's a good thing we have this site to go to for suggestions...I do agree though that getting the right shades of brown to match is a troubling affair......black makes it all so much easier, but I do like brown leather accoutrements......good luck!

I do like my brown accessories. I got lucky with the Georgia boot color that matchs my two hand made sporrans. The left sporran is a converted Coach (backpack style) purse and the right is groundhog. I am able to mix the fur front sporran with my black shoes. The brown equipment is the tougher quality kit that I use for vigorous activities.

I apologize for the lack of polish and shine as I am rough on equipment.

I recoloured a pair of light tan brogues with this stuff over ten years ago. It's proved to be remarkably hard wearing.

I've read some of the old hands comment that the sporran / belt need not match the boots in Highland wear, but of course you also have to satisfy your own eye. Personally, I'd not every have occasion to wear boots with a kilt, I don't think, but you must meet your own needs.

Thanks Father Bill,I suspect they are right, however I did see this pic online...Doesn't look too bad maybe...after all the kilt would be worn causally with boots anyhow.figure-16.pngMaybe I should just find some black boots,I really prefer brown however.
Edit:I just read your post again and saw that the old hands said sporran belt need NOT match, that's good news. But personally I would prefer belt and sporran to match.

I realize I may come off rather kilt koppy here, but it’s not hard to match if you don’t try and force Scottish culture and urban hip hop together

Good point, unfortunately just not casual enough for me.Also I live in a rural environment and usually need more traction and water resistance.
