    New Day Sporran

I have never been completely happy with (some of) the readily available budget day sporrans (lack of carry room) and could not afford to have one of the wonderful bespoke ones. I therefore took it upon myself to make one.
I sought some expert guidance, then proceeded to 'design', draw, cut-out, hand stitch and finish my own. I have to say, I am more than a little pleased with the result. It has a 5cm gusset and I used a Sam Brown's stud to fasten it. I have made the chain rings removable for use with a simple leather belt.

Here's the link to our page on how to do that. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...s_faq_pictures

If it doesn't work for you or it's too complex, let us know and we'll try explaining it another way.

    Hopefully picture link now works.

    Rabble,

Have 'adjusted' the original post. Hopefully, these will now work. I am certain you will advise if otherwise

I think it looks simple but well made. Well done, and wear it with pride!

edited to add: I do not mean simple in a disparaging way, I mean to say only that it is not ostentatious, in case that didn't come out right

I too used a stud fastener on my last sporran. I find it an elegant and simple way to secure the flap. Please share with us how you plan to keep leather conditioned, as this question comes up from time to time with new members that obtain older sporrans.

PS. I like brown and tan items (belts, sporrans, shoes, etc) with kilts.

A good question! Like you, I like brown shades. As for the leather, it's something I too will take advice on. Conditioner of some description I suspect, but I bow to those with greater experience than I. Thank you for your kind words though..
