My Head Wear Collection is Done
Hello rabble.
I would just like to tell you all that my head wear collection for my Highland Dress outfit is complete. I will no longer be buying bonnets for it. This is not something I really planned from the beginning but it has ended up this way and decided this would be the point where I draw the line. This is the point where I buy no more bonnets. That's not to say, when all this stuff is done and worn away in future, that I won't get more bonnets, no, not at all. In fact, when the time comes that I need to buy a new kilt all over again, I'm going to do it differently. But for now, I am satisfied.
Here is my selection;
Tartan Beret/Tam, Royal Stewart Tartan to match my kilt.
Plain black Balmoral Bonnet.
Diced, black Balmoral Bonnet, red/white/black dicing.
Plain black Glengarry Bonnet.
Diced, black Glengarry Bonnet, red/white/black dicing.

Here is me wearing the tartan Beret/Tam.

Here is me wearing the plain Balmoral.

Here is me wearing the diced Balmoral.

Here is me wearing the plain Glengarry.

Here is me wearing the diced Glengarry.

So, this is all the bonnets I have.

Congratulations, now you can move on to your hose collection.
I think some like these ,only in red, would be perfect with the tartan Beret.

In his younger days, Sir JYS was known as 'the Mod Scot'. Always proud of his heritage.

It’s certainly a bold look.

I stick to the tradition of non-matching hose. Like it should be with Highland Dress.

The late friend of Sir JYS, Jim Clark. By birth, neither proper Highland Scots. Only proud Scots.

The trouble is that Sir Jackie Stewart is a Lowlander--------and it shows.

See, interesting. What you've just said reminds me of something.
I'm a little offended at that statement Jock, considering I am a Lowlander, and the people I associate with are Lowland Scots. I speak the language of Lowland Scots, Scots. Jock, dinna fash yersel aboot Lallan Scots, ye ken nocht aboot oor wey o life.
Anyway, back to the point, it reminds me of the old feud that goes back to at least the time of Robert the Bruce. See when Scottish people weren't fighting English people, Scottish Lowlanders were fighting Scottish Highlanders. You're statement offends me, but I'm not going to lie, I've said some things about Highland people myself. Two that I can remember are "Highlanders are savages." and "Highlanders are mad.".

Sir Jackie Stewart is a Lowland Scot ---and it shows, is a unarguable fact. You are, by your own admission, a Lowland Scot ---and it
shows, an unarguable fact. You are also not a Highland Scot---and yes it shows, another unarguable fact. Nothing that I have said, yet, could possibly cause offence.
Can I suggest that you go away and grow a thicker skin and whilst you are at it, you would do well to research proper Highland attire and not some comic version of it, such as you are at present, attempting pass off on this website as the real thing.

Anybody here ever hear a similar statement on this forum before? Anyone ever SAY a similar statement on this forum before?
Aye, friend you may believe it for now. But the pictures taunt you, the online sales tempt you, the highland games call you, the tartans beckon you, the spirits of kiltwearers past present and future will haunt you. And you will buy more, of whatever it is you think you have enough of. Been there, bought that.
For now revel in your collection with pride. Enjoy today's bounty. Tomorrow is another day.
