    Vancouver Kilts Night II

bcmtnbka and I started about 5pm with a pint at the Irish Heather. We walked across downtown to the Trap and Gill and had a pretty good time there. Nathan, our Kilts Night Piper showed up and played a set but it was hard to hear him over a rowdy bunch of youths at the next table.
We left earlier than normal (about 11:30) for the Granville Stroll because the youths got so loud the band couldn't be heard.

This morning I got an e-mail from our Mayor, Larry Campbell, saying he'd been to Kilts Night but we weren't there. Somehow we'd missed each other in the bar. (It was so busy, they was a line-up at the door.)
Larry had shown up, (I presume in his kilt), to hoist a few with us.
    Dang!

That's a shame, Bear, but missing friends in crowds is easily done. So there were only two of you this time!! I hope to get to meet Mayor Larry when I'm with you all for the August 2005 Kilts Night.

The crowd was very loud and I don't think I saw any kilted individual until I saw Nathan. Did he show up @ the Dog House? It was too bad that We didn't see him last night. May be next month?

BTW, my better half like the black sporran much better than the brown one.

I had nothing to do with it. His name is Larry Campbell and he wears a kilt every chance he gets. I've seen him in a traditional wool kilt and a Utilikilt.

BTW, There is a TV show about the head coroner of Vancouver based on Larry Campbell's time as head coroner of Vancouver. It's called DaVinci's Inquest.

Mayor Campbell made the news the other day for chasing down a dog that had escaped from it's very pregnant owner. It was leashed to a chair and speeding down the street when he spotted the dog running by.
The dog's owner gave birth a few days later.
He's the best Mayor we've had in a long time. Only someone who gives a damn would have bothered chasing down that dog.

Just because we have a kilted Mayor, it is not an excuse for you guys to move north of 49.

I was thinking of mentioning this earlier on the thread, and then decided not to, but now that you guys mentioned evacuating the US, I have to confess that I am in serious planning mode to move to Victoria, B.C. As soon as job plans finalize, I'll be invading....

Victoria? You are retiring already? Then the Vancouver Kilts Night will be 1 ferry ride away.
