    Dye from Strap

    I have a sporran chain and strap that is leaving black streaks on my shirts.

    what can i do to stop this?

    My three thoughts are; don't put it on/over your shirt, wear black shirts, or find a different strap.

    Another thought....maybe try wetting and rubbing/ washing or scrubbing the leather until stain stops coming off.

    Another thing is to use clear, wax type, shoe polish to seal the leather. Especially on the rough inside of the strap.

    Thanks Steve, I will give that a try and the wear it about the house for a day over a old white T-Shirt. If i had a better figure I would not have to have the back just above the top of the kilt to keep it from sliding down around my Knees "LOL"

    Before you seal the leather, would be a good idea to take a piece of sheeps wool or some kind of buffing pad and buff vigorously to remove the excess dye.

    I wouldn't recommend those. May get a smaller strap? Even if built like a pole, if sized correctly, it shouldn't slide down.

    I have quite wearing it and I dont have any black shirts, I may try putting it the a pocket of my jeans when they get washed and if that might do it??
