I have been inspired to compete in, rather than watch Highland Games Competitions, and was wondering if anyone here who may be competing had any advice on what to wear with the kilt and how to take care of a kilt used in competitions. I plan on using a PV kilt from USAK, with compression shorts and a T-shirt. I have seen a variety of hose, usually compression athletic hose, sometimes with flashes. I realize that a sporran is not used, nor a belt with a fancy buckle, so I am planning on using a double pronged 2.5-inch leather belt, partly for use like a weight belt. Based on my practices, it is likely that the kilt may get dirty and will need more laundering, which is another good reason for getting a Velcro-closed PV kilt. Other than items (like Tiger Balm ), is there anything else I may need to consider?
